100.00

The Saint Francis satyr is an endangered species of butterfly only found on the Fort Bragg military base is North Carolina. This piece is about the butterfly's struggle to survive due to habitat loss, and other detrimental human activities.

I made this butterfly for a large installation titled, "Asunder". Each butterfly is editioned to eight, and each is hand painted with a unique mixed media background.

Materials: Relief print on Kuzo paper, acrylic, graphite, colored pencil, found image on Baltic birch panel.
